For Listeners: Importing Your Podcasts to Player FM

We’re excited to have you join the Player FM community! Whether you’re switching from another app or just starting your podcast journey, Player FM offers a powerful and personalized listening experience across all your devices.

If you're coming from another podcast app, we've made it easy to bring your subscriptions with you.

To import your subscriptions, you'll need an OPML file, which is a standard format used to transfer podcast subscriptions between apps. Once you have your OPML file, follow these steps:

On Player FM Android

  1. Open the Player FM app.
  2. Log in to your account by going to Settings > Login to Player FM. If you can’t see the Login to Player FM option, it means you’re already logged in.
  3. Go to Settings > Import OPML/RSS.
  4. Tap Copy subscriptions from another app (import OPML).
  5. Tap Add OPML File.
  6. Locate and select the OPML file. You can check the How to Export Subscriptions from Other Podcast Apps section of this article for more info about exporting subscriptions from some known podcast apps.
  7. Tap Import now.
  8. Once the podcast feeds are imported, use the +Add as private and +Add as public options to follow/subscribe to each of them as a private or public feed.
  9. Tap the I’m done! button once finished.

On Player FM iOS

  1. Open the Player FM app.
  2. Log in to your account by going to Settings > Connection and tapping the Login button. If you can’t see the Login button, it means you’re already logged in.
  3. Open the podcast app you were previously using.
  4. On that app, locate the option to export subscriptions as an OPML file. You can check the How to Export Subscriptions from Other Podcast Apps section of this article for more info about the export subscriptions option of some known iOS podcast apps.
  5. Tap Player FM from the dialog/popup that will appear.
  6. Once the podcast feeds are imported, use the +Add as private and +Add as public options to follow/subscribe to each of them as a private or public feed.
  7. Tap the I’m done! button once finished.

On Player FM Web

  1. Access the Player FM web app.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Access the OPML import tool by clicking the + button on the upper-right portion of the Subscriptions page and clicking the Import OPML button.
  4. Locate the OPML file on your computer and open it with a browser.
  5. Copy the contents of the OPML file.
  6. Paste the contents into the import tool.
  7. Click the Import! button.
  8. On the next page, feel free to follow/subscribe to the imported podcast feeds.


How to Export Subscriptions from Other Podcast Apps

  3. Tap Export Subscriptions.

  2. Access Import & export OPML.
  3. Under the Export podcasts section, tap Save file.

  1. Go to Profile and tap the Settings icon on the top right.
  2. Access Export Podcasts.
  3. Tap Export Podcasts.

  1. Tap the 3-dot menu on the top right > App settings.
  2. Access Backup / Restore.
  3. Tap OPML export.
Podcast Go Android
  1. Tap the 3-dot menu on the top right > Preferences.
  2. Tap Export podcasts.
Podcast Player Android
  1. Tap the 3-line icon on the top left > Tools.
  2. Access Import & Export.
  3. Tap OPML Export.

  1. Go to Profile >Settings.
  2. Access Backup & restore.
  3. Tap Export to OPML file.

  1. Tap the 3-line icon on the top left > Settings.
  2. Access Import/Export Podcasts From OPML.
