On Apple Watch, the playback speed toggle doesn't always work.
The Now Playing screen on the Apple Watch toggles through 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x and 2.0x, but Castro supports a different set of speeds: 0.75x, 1.0x, 1.125x, 1.25x, 1.375x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2.0x, 3.0x.
As of Castro 2.6, the Watch play speed toggle works with two caveats:
- Selecting the 0.5x speed on the Watch doesn't work because Castro doesn't support that speed. Spoken audio sounds really awful that way, so we don't plan on adding it. Setting 0.5x won't cause any problems; it just won't change the speed. Toggling through the other speeds does work.
- The watch only toggles through 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x, and 2.0x, but Castro supports lots more speeds. If you choose a speed in Castro that the Watch doesn't display, the Watch seems to make a rough guess and choose the closest one to show. This isn't ideal, but I think it's as good as we can do without just turning off the feature on the Watch.
