Does Player FM support private/premium/password-protected feeds?
Yes. To import a private/password-protected feed, you need to log in to your Player FM account first.
Importing can be done either on the Android/iOS app or the web app.
On the Android/iOS app:
- Go to Settings > Import OPML/RSS.
- Tap Add private RSS feed (from Patreon, etc.).
- Once a dialog appears, input the podcast's RSS feed link in the text field. Make sure that the link begins with http:// or https://.
- Tap Add feed.
On the web app:
- Access the feed import tool.
- Input your username as well as the podcast's RSS feed link in the tool. Make sure that the link begins with http:// or https://.
- Select Password-protected or secret.
- Hit the Import feed button.
Feeds that require login credentials
For private/premium feeds that require the input of login credentials/details, try to incorporate your username and password into the feed URL. You may observe this pattern: https://username:password@example.com/abc
For instance, if the private feed URL is https://privatefeed.com/test and your login details are:
Username: johndoe
Password: qwerty123
Use this feed URL in importing: https://johndoe:qwerty123@privatefeed.com/test
Please note the login details we're referring to here aren't your Player FM login details, but the login details that the podcast publisher provided to you so you can access the feed.
