Why does Player FM keep running in the background?

The app runs in the background depending on how you set it up. For instance, if you enabled auto-download (in Settings > Downloads), then it will perform the process in the background.

To fully close the app, please do the following:

Player FM Android app

1. Open the full-screen player by swiping the mini-player up.
2. Tap the 3-dot menu on the upper right.
3. Select Stop and close.
4. Tap the 3-line icon found at the bottom of your device's screen to access the recent apps screen.
5. Swipe the Player FM app up to close it.

Player FM iOS app

1. Go back to the home screen.
2. From the bottom of your device's screen, swipe up to access the recent apps screen.
3. Swipe the Player FM app up to close it.
